Two Police Brutality Protestors Arrested During MLK Breakfast

legacy.com

Two people were arrested Monday during a protest of police brutality at the Martin Luther King Junior Birthday Breakfast in Columbus.

25-year-old Mia Santiago and 24-year-old Dkeama Alexis chanted “Justice for Julius” during Mayor Andy Ginther’s remarks, refering to 16-year-old Julius Tate Junior, who killed by an undercover officer during a reported robbery attempt in 2018. The two were escorted from the building and are charged with criminal trespassing.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
