The two sides in a gender discrimination lawsuit filed by a Columbus police officer have agreed to dismiss the suit because of circumstances unrelated to the case, according to an attorney for the plaintiff.
Tricia Zimmerman sued in 2016. She said she had texted nude photos of herself to her boyfriend officer Jeffrey Lazar. His estranged wife took his phone to Internal Affairs, which found no evidence to support her claim the couple had sex while on duty. Officers printed out the photos and shared them with colleagues. The attorney says the suit could be refiled at a later date.
