One of the Ohio Senate's top leaders has tested positive for COVID-19, leading both he and the Senate President to go into quarantine. Statehouse correspondent Andy Chow reports.
Senate Pro Tem Bob Peterson, a Republican from southern Ohio, tested positive for COVID-19.
Republican Senate President Larry Obhof will stay home in quarantine for the next week.
A spokesperson for Obhof says this is out of an abundance of caution after having a brief interaction with Peterson last week, during an event outdoors.
The spokesperson adds that Peterson is doing "ok" right now.
Senators Tina Maharath, a Democrat, and Republican Frank Hoagland have also both tested positive for COVID-19 during this pandemic.
