Columbus Police Chief Thomas Quinlan says a social media rumor about a weekend murder in the OSU campus area is false.
23-year-old Chase Meola was shot and killed Sunday. Quinlan debunks rumors that his death was related to gang activity. He says the shooting stemmed from a fight when several people were asked to leave a party. The suspect, 18-year-old Kintie Mitchell Junior, is scheduled for arraignment today. Court records show Mitchell was free on bond at the time of the shooting.
