Ohio's official unemployment rate for October is 5.6 percent, down 2.7 percent from the revised rate for September. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services says the state had 324 thousand jobless people last month, down from 469 thousand in September. Non-farm payrolls increased by nearly 31 thousand in October to over 5.2 million. The department reports Ohio gained jobs in the manufacturing, construction and service industries.
