BWC Inspection Finds Most Businesses, Customers Observing Mask Mandate

wkyc.com

State officials say 94 percent of retail store employees and customers complied with the state's mask mandate during inspections last week. Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation officials visited 230 stores in 32 counties. 73 hundred customers and nearly 24 hundred workers were seen properly wearing masks. 93 percent of stores displayed signs notifying customers of the requirement. The weekly inspections are one tool Governor Mike DeWine announced in November to help slow the spread of the virus. Stores receive a warning for a first offense. A store could be forced to close for up to 24 hours for subsequent violations.
