Democratic U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio says Republican President Donald Trump a racist.
Brown told NBC on Sunday Trump fueled the so-called birther movement against former PresidentObama, that Trump lies frequently, and that his racist comments and background are well-known.
Brown, who is considering making a presidential bid in 2020, has previously called Trump a racist. He said earlier this month on CNN it's self-evident. Brown was responding to Trump's call for Democratic Virginia Governor Ralph Northam to resign following revelations that as a medical student in 1984 he may have been photographed in either black face or a Ku Klux Klan outfit. Brown says Trump should resign.
