Columbus city officials say treatments for algae blooms in the Scioto River have caused foul-smelling drinking water in the Hilliard area.

Residents of the Westwind neighborhood have blamed ongoing sewer repairs.  But Columbus Department of Public Utilities officials say chemicals used to treat algae at the Dublin Road Water Treatment Plant are causing the smell that is expected to begin dissipating today.
