Ohio State University will make over 250 million dollars in budget cuts next year because of revenue losses and increased costs associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Trustees approved the budget Thursday. 177 million worth of cuts come from the university, and 77 million from the school's medical center. Early in the pandemic OSU implemented a hiring freeze, put a hold on merit raises, and restricted travel. Those measures will remain in place through the end of the year.
