Race, Equity, and Health with Kyle Strickland

On the new episode of Prognosis Ohio, Dan Skinner talks with Kyle Strickland, a Columbus native, Harvard Law graduate, and advocate for racial and health justice. Strickland is Senior Legal Analyst at the Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity, Deputy Director of Race and Democracy at the Roosevelt Institute, and Director of My Brother’s Keeper Ohio.

 

In their conversation, Kyle and Dan discuss Kyle’s legal career, his 2018 State Senate run, and his thoughts on democracy and health in the time of COVID.

Dr. Dan Skinner is Associate Professor of Health Policy in the Department of Social Medicine at Ohio University, Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, on the Dublin, Ohio campus. He earned his Ph.D. in political science from the City University of New York. Skinner teaches and researches about, as well as advocates for increased access to health care, especially for underserved populations, as well as various aspects of social determinants that affect the health of communities, in Ohio and beyond.
