State Says Nursing Homes May Resume In-Person Visitation In October

Sep 25, 2020

State health officials Thursday reported 991 new cases of COVID-19 and 29 new deaths.

The state now has 147,724 cases and 4,726 deaths.

Starting October 12th, Ohio's nursing homes and asisted living centers may begin to allow in-person, indoor visits.  Outdoor visits only have been in place since July 20 due to COVID-19. Ohio Department of Aging Director Ursel McElroy says homes first need to  determine their readiness and community spread:

McElroy says visitors will have to undergo screenings and wear masks.  Facilities will report infection data to the state, which will put those numbers on its dashboard.
