Two Films Made By Ohioans Win Academy Awards

The Oscar for best feature-length documentary went to the film about the Moraine autoglass factory entitled "American Factory." 

It's the first documentary released by Barack and Michelle Obama's production company.Julia Reichert is one of the filmmakers and told the crowd last night how the movie came about:

"American Factory" beat out "Honeyland," "The Cave," "The Edge of Democracy" and "For Sama" for the award.  And former University of Akron football player Matthew Cherry took home the Oscar for Best Animated Short Film last night for his production of a film entitled "Hair Love."  The film tells the story of an African-American father who struggles to style his daughter's hair in her mother's absence.
