There’s another plea deal in the federal corruption case involving Republican former Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder, the former chair of the Ohio Republican Party and a utility widely believed to be Akron-based FirstEnergy.

Republican Larry Householder has been removed as speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives by a unanimous vote, after his arrest last week on a federal racketeering charge related to the nuclear bailout law he pushed last year.

A week from today, the group that wants to overturn Ohio’s nuclear power plant bailout law is required to submit nearly 266,000 valid petition signatures to halt that law and put it before voters next year.

The fight over Ohio's new nuclear bailout law has apparently hit at street level. A person gathering signatures to put the bailout on next year's ballot called police to report an assault.
