NOVEMBER 8 CLASSES
Bird? Plane? No, YOUR Superhero!2nd and 3rd grade // 1-2:30 pm // $20Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s your very own superhero! You’ll learn how to build a superhero from scratch including character traits and design, and then you will create your own comic. Capes not required.
Toil and Trouble4th and 5th grade // 1-3 pm // $25Flex your mischievous muscles in this diabolically interactive writing workshop. You will create a “trouble stew” for your character and write your characters into and maybe, only maybe, out of their situations. You’ll see why trouble is the engine that fuels a character, drives a story, and makes it interesting.
Founding Bothers6th, 7th, and 8th grade // 1-3 pm // $25George Washington. Thomas Jefferson. These are names that have gone down in history...and put us to sleep. In this class, we'll fix it: create your own crazy founder (a tapdancing robot squid?) and then have a wild debate with everyone else's character to create the Future Constitution.

Join award-winning singer-songwriter Eric Gnezda for a conversation with his good friend and fellow musician Sally Fingerett about his new book, Stories at the Center, as well as live performances of Eric's original songs with virtuoso violinist Arkadiy Gips! Highlighting Eric as a songwriter and author, this evening will also feature readings by Eric, an audience Q&A, and a book signing.
Eric and Sally will discuss Eric's latest book, Stories at the Center, a memoir chronicling his unconventional path in the entertainment business, including creating and hosting the popular PBS original program, Songs at the Center, a nationally syndicated series that showcases the works of brilliant talents in the contemporary singer-songwriting field.
Eric Gnezda is an award-winning singer-songwriter and the creator and host of Songs at the Center, a TV series that airs on over 400 PBS stations across the U.S. He pens and performs a wide range of songs, both serious and humorous—from inspirational anthems and love songs that touch the heart and soul to country tearjerkers and comedic/satirical numbers.
You will have the opportunity to ask the speakers questions after the event, purchase books, and get your books signed.
Best way to have fun while making new friends. Whether you've never done improv before or you're a seasoned veteran, come on out and play some games with us at Gresso's!
The idea behind improv is to create entire comedy scenes from scratch, similar to Whose Line Is It Anyway. In addition to being a lot of fun, it also offers lessons in everything from communication to thinking on your feet.
The meetup will be either on the second floor or Gresso's or in the basement (we'll post an update shortly before the start of each meetup). Stay afterward for a drink and/or some food with people!
