ODRC Dropping Two-Drug Lethal Injection Cocktail

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections says it's dropping the two-drug lethal injection cocktail used to execute an inmate last year during which he repeatedly gasped and snorted.  The agency also says it's returning a drug to the system that it used from 1999 through 2011. The agency says the February 11 execution of condemned killer Ronald Phillips is being delayed as it secures supplies of the new drug. Other executions may also be delayed.  It's unclear where the agency may get supplies of thiopental sodium, the anesthetic drug it's bringing back.
