Granville zoning officials have approved a Denison University plan to put solar panels in its Biological Reserve. The plan was approved despite the objections of neighbors who say it will harm the preserve and their property values. The university is working with Columbus-based American Electric Power to install 5 thousand solar panels. Denison will use the 2 megawatts of electricity generated, which is 15 percent of its total usage. The school wants to cut its use of fossil fuels and its carbon footprint by the year 2030.
