Ohio Jobless Rate For November Up Slightly From October

Ohio's unemployment rate for November is 4.5 percent, up one-tenth of a point from October. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services says non-farm payrolls increased by 99 hundred last month to more than 5.4 million. The number of jobless workers in the state was 255 thousand in October, up by 6 thousand from the previous month. The number of unemployed has decreased by 41 thousand in the past 12 months. The state saw the largest job gains in the construction, leisure and hospitality, and professional and business services sectors. The largest job losses were in the trade, transportation, and utilities, as well as the educational and health services sectors. The U.S. unemployment rate for November was 5.0 percent, unchanged from October and down from 5.8 percent in November 2014.
