Two Attorneys Want Not To Defend Suspect In Slaying Of Local Cop

Danville Police

Two attorneys appointed to represent the man accused of fatally shooting a Danville police officer are asking to withdraw from the case. Bruce Malek and Brandon Crunkilton say it's not feasible to continue representing Herschel Jones III because of issues that have arisen. They won't discuss specifics. Jones has pleaded not guilty in the January death of Thomas Cottrell. His former girlfriend warned police Jones was "looking to kill a cop."
