Report Shows Ohio Leads Nation In Opioid Overdose Deaths

The Kaiser Family Foundation says Ohio leads the nation in opioid overdose deaths. The non-profit group's report shows one in 9 heroin deaths in America happened in Ohio. More than 21 hundred opioid overdoses were reported in Ohio in 2014. More than 3 thousand people died of opioid overdoses last year, and law enforcement expects that number will be larger this year. The report is based on statistics from the Centers for Disease Control.
