Dublin City Council Monday approved an ordinance prohibiting the sale of tobacco and nicotine products to anyone under the age of 21. The ban that takes effect March 1st includes penalties for vendors ranging from fines to license suspension or revocation. Franklin County Public Health will administer a licensing system for retailers that will cost them 150 dollars. The goal is to try and stop young people from consuming the legal products. New Albany, Powell, Bexley, Grandview Heights and Upper Arlington have similar bans in place.
