The Central Ohio Transit Authority's board today named 47-year-old Joanna Pinkerton as the agency's new CEO.

Pinkerton takes over for Curtis Stitt, who retired last September.  Pinkerton is Chief Operating Officer  of the state's Transportation Research Center in East Liberty. Pinkerton has worked for the Ohio Department of Transportation, Ohio State University and the Union County Engineer's office. Board members say mobility and technology will be her focus at COTA.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
