Husted Disputes Bannon Group's Claim Of Voter Fraud In 12th Congressional District

Ohio Public Radio

Republican Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted is disputing claims of voter fraud in last week's 12th Congressional district special election.

Husted says in a statement his office has been cleaning up the voter rolls since 2011 and cases of fraud are rare.  An official winner has not been declared. Nearly eight-thousand absentee and provisional ballots are waiting to be counted.  Husted's statement did not include the source of the claims, but a conservative government watchdog group co-founded by former Trump advisor Steve Bannon claimed this week 170 voters were listed as over 116 years of age -- and 72 of them had voted in the 2016 election.
