Columbus Schools Under Remote Learning Model Through January

The Columbus City Schools will operate under a remote learning model through the end of January.

Superintendent Talisa Dixon says February 1 is the earliest target date for students to return to class under a blended learning model. This includes career and technical education students. Dixon says the district expects to have a final decision in mid-January. Dixon cites the extension of local stay-at-home advisories, increases in COVID-19 cases, and transportation issues. Dixon says the district is facing a 150-person bus driver shortage, and fewer students are allowed on each bus for health and safety reasons. On Thursday, the district extended the suspension of all in-person athletic and extracurricular activities through January 2.
