Four Names Submitted As Replacement For PUCO Head

A nominating council has forwarded the names of four finalists to Ohio Governor Mike DeWine to fill a seat on the powerful state utilities commission to replace its chair, who resigned after an FBI search of his German Village home.

The names submitted Monday to the Republican governor include:

- Judith French, an Ohio Supreme Court justice who lost a re-election bid in November

- Anne Vogel, a top DeWine aide and former utility company attorney

- Angela Amos, a policy adviser at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission  and

- Greg Poulos, the executive director of a consumer advocacy group for utility customers.

31 people applied for the position.  The governor has 30 days to pick former chair Samuel Randazzo's replacement. DeWine hired Randazzo to run the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio shortly after he took office in January, 2019.

A native of Chicago, naturalized citizen of Cincinnati and resident of Columbus, Alison attended Earlham College and the Ohio State University. She has equal passion for Midwest history, hockey and Slavic poetry.
