OEA Says State School Board Member Organized Trip To DC Rally

Ohio Department of Education

The head of the Ohio Education Association is demanding to know why a member of the state Board of Education chartered a bus to take protestors to a rally in Washington that ended with an attack on the U.S. Capitol.

OEA President Scott DiMaurio says Kirsten Hill, who represents District 2, and also chairs the Lorain County TEA Party, is listed as the co-ordinator for a bus from Elyria to the rally January 6th. IAn online events page for the trip says "We're fighting for Trump to the bitter end".

DiMaurio says he wants Hill to explain her connection to the rally, and denounce the actions at the Capitol.

Hill was elected to the state board in 2018.  Her TEA Party group has been active in protesting pandemic restrictions in Ohio, calling for limitations on public health orders.

A native of Chicago, naturalized citizen of Cincinnati and resident of Columbus, Alison attended Earlham College and the Ohio State University. She has equal passion for Midwest history, hockey and Slavic poetry.
