Jobless Rate In Ohio Declines Slightly

State officials say Ohio's unemployment rate for December was 5.5 percent, down two-tenths of a point from November.  The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services says 315 thousand people were out of work last month. Non-farm payrolls declined by 11, 500 in December to over 5.2 million.

Ohio lost jobs in the manufacturing sector as well as leisure and hospitality. Ohio gained jobs in the trade, transportation, and utilities sector.
