Democracy 2033: The Future of Democracy

We started our Democracy in Crisis series looking at America’s long history of polarization. We continue it by trying to look into the future. Given our current trends what does America look like in ten years? Will we come together, or will we continue on our polarized paths? Will we split into new political parties? How will shifting demographics change voter loyalties and effect the fortunes of politicians and the diversity of candidates?

Featuring Kyle Kondik, Managing Editor, Sabato’s Crystal Ball, and Director of Communications, University of Virginia Center for Politics, Catherine Turcer, Executive Director, Common Cause Ohio, and Herb Asher, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of Political Science, The Ohio State University, with host Karen Kasler, Bureau Chief, Statehouse News Bureau.

 Important Announcements

  1. We will be temporarily holding our weekly forums at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center, (which has free on-site parking), and serving box lunches. This change in venue is due to remodeling at the Boat House due to water damage from a ruptured sprinkler head during the holiday cold snap.
  2. We are experiencing some issues with our event registration. If you are unable to register, please call Montra Moody at 614-464-3220 or montra@columbusmetroclub.org, or try again later. We apologize for the inconvenience.
