Local Judge Bans State From Collecting Fees In Nuclear Power Plant Bailout Law

Dec 22, 2020

A Franklin County  judge has blocked the collection of electric bill fees expected to be added  next year under the 1 billion dollar nuclear power plant bailout law at the center of a federal bribery probe.

Judge Chris Brown sided with Republican Attorney General David Yost and the cities of Cincinnati and Columbus in granting a preliminary injunction.  The ruling comes as state lawmakers scramble to decide the fate of the  law and nominees were chosen to succeed the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio chair who resigned amid the investigation.
