General Assembly Votes To Enact Sales Tax Holiday

The Ohio House has approve a Senate-passed measure authorizing a sales tax holiday this summer. It applies to clothing items of 75 dollars or less and classroom supplies and instructional materials of 20 dollars or less. If signed by the Governor, the sales tax holiday will be in effect from August 5-7. A similar holiday was held last year. A legislative analysis found the bill could reduce state revenue by up to 15 million dollars in the next budget year.
