Trial Delayed For Suspect In Fatal Shooting Of Danville Cop

Danville Police

The trial for the man accused of fatally shooting a Danville police officer has been delayed until March. The trial scheduled for November 1 was pushed back after defense attorneys sought more time to prepare. 34-year-old Herschel Jones III pleaded not guilty in the January slaying of Officer Thomas Cottrell. Jones' ex-girlfriend warned police that he was "looking to kill a cop."
