The City of Columbus has filed a public nuisance lawsuit against an Illinois-based company that owns hundreds of properties in Columbus.
The complaint against AMG Realty Group and its founder Adam Glickman involves 802 units in three large apartment complexes: Mayfair, Hartford on the Lake, and Fitzroy. Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein says inspectors identified a record of chronic code violations.
The city began imposing $1,000 daily fines, which Klein says have added up to $75,000. The lawsuit seeks to bring the apartments into compliance and to collect those fees, which will continue to pile up during the court process. Klein says there’s no immediate need to relocate any residents.
