The Groveport-Madison and Columbus City Schools have signed a territory transfer and revenue sharing agreement.
Officials say in a news release the agreement addresses concerns Groveport-Madison had with the current "win-win" deal. The agreement secures residential properties within Groveport-Madison's boundaries from transfer into the Columbus district upon their annexation into the City of Columbus. Groveport-Madison officials approved the deal this week. Columbus officials approved it on November 20. The districts will share tax revenue from existing and future developments, per the 50-year-term of the deal, which also has a 50-year renewal.
