CDP Resuming Some Vice Unit Operations

The Columbus Division of Police say a select unit of  vice officers will resume limited operations.

All operations of the vice squad were 'paused' and placed under review in September after two high-profile cases: the arrest of porn star Stormy Daniels and a fatal officer-involved shooting during a prostitution sting.

The team will be assigned to handle nuisance abatement and liquor violations effective immediately. Other operations remain paused. The FBI along with division officials continue their probes of the squad.

Three vice officers have been relieved of duty since the pause began, including Whitney Lancester this week. Lancaster was involved in the Daniels arrest. Andrew Mitchell and Steve Rosser have also been relieved of duty. Mitchell killed Donna Castleberry during the prostitution sting. Rosser led the sting that resulted in the Daniels arrest.
