Stonewall Columbus Issues Apology In Wake Of 2017 Pride Parade

stonewallcolumbus.org

Stonewall Columbus has issued an apology after the arrest of  four people at the 2017 Columbus Pride Parade.

The protestors tried to block the parade route. The Wednesday apology posted on Facebook says in part Stonewall failed to offer support in the way the community and protestors expected and deserved, and apologizes 'for not being the voice of our community when we needed to be.' The four were  protesting the lack of space for black and brown LGBTQ people during pride festivals and violence against marginalized people of color.  Last week, TransOhio severed ties with Stonewall, saying it did not do enough to support the protestors.
