More Ohioans Filed Jobless Claims Last Week
State officials say more than 35 thousand Ohioans filed claims for unemployment insurance benefits last week, bringing the state's total over the last three months to over 1.3 million.
That is more than the combined total for the last three years. Jobless claims have jumped because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Labor Department says 1.5 million Americans filed claims last week, bringing the nation's three-month total to more than 44 million.
