State BOE Member Resigns

education.ohio.gov

Ohio Board of Education member A.J. Wagner has resigned because he's leaving the state. Wagner used his departure to voice concerns about problems that he says will continue to plague schools, including funding and teacher shortages, unnecessary testing and other issues. Wagner also advocated for more pre-k education, tighter charter school oversight, and flexibility in graduation standards. Governor John Kasich will appoint someone to complete Wagner's term through 2018.
