FOP Endorses Scott

The Columbus Fraternal Order of Police has endorsed Franklin County Sheriff Zach Scott in the Columbus mayoral race. The endorsement, for which Scott heavily lobbied, gives his campaign against Andy Ginther, James Ragland, and Terry Boyd a much-needed boost. The FOP will donate 35 thousand dollars to Scott's campaign today. It is the first time the union has endorsed a candidate in a mayoral primary. The top two vote-getters in the non-partisan May primary will move on to the general election in November.  Ginther was hoping to win the endorsement or have the union not issue one.
