The Columbus Police Firearms Review Board says two SWAT officers acted within policy when they returned fire and killed a woman barricaded inside a Whims Road home last March.
Keith Kise and Glenn Thivener killed 25-year-old Kaitlin Marie Demeo after attempts to talk her out failed. It's at least the third police shooting case involving Thivener. In 2017, the board also cleared Thivener for his role in the shooting death of convicted cop-killer Lincoln Rutledge. In 2014, a grand jury declined to indict Thivener for his role in the shooting death of Danny Thornton.
